I'll immortalize you in time...

Ah, it's exactly 12pm as I'm typing this.
I'm starting to detest staying at home now.
In my current state, too much free time actually hurts.
But...
I get to pray more. = )

Anyway, church camp this year was held at Kampar, Perak for about 2 days 2 nights. Much was said, much was given out, much was gained, and much was learned. God moved in a powerful way through the speaker, Rev Samson Dabbas. God once again reassured me (and I have this constant problem of feeling unworthy) that He has great plans right up ahead. I'm very excited, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Event: Harvest Community Church Camp 2009
Venue: Grand Kampar Hotel, Kampar, Perak
Theme: Kingdom Living on Earth

Day 1: 4/6/2009
I woke up a wee bit too early and it wasn't due to excitement as past times. I have no idea what messed up my biological clock, but slept a bit late the night before but still woke up way too early. Started off from here at 10am and reached there around 12.30pm. I had to drive the Gen-2 as we needed an extra car due to a lack of cars for some of them.

Our destination...Grand Kampar Hotel.

Lunch already started before check-in.

While setting up the equipment, we started snapping pictures...

And the shades came out while waiting for briefing time.

Briefing begins...

Then, team building session 1 started right after...

Figuring out a newly improved game of charades.

Photobucket
Still at it...

Photobucket
We were divided into 4 different teams for the entire camp.

Photobucket
And the games were incredibly competitive.

Photobucket
Team Jesus is Our Rock. The mastering of maths was required for game #2.

Photobucket
Team Ugly Betty. Don't ask me why they chose that name.

Photobucket
They probably had the funniest group cheer.

Photobucket
Rawr!

Photobucket
Team Happy Chickies. Har har har...

Photobucket
Calculating isn't as easy as it seems...

Photobucket
Random shot with Barney.

Photobucket
Then we adjourned for water baptism.

Photobucket
Mission accomplished.

Photobucket
The room...

Photobucket
After everyone washed up, we had an 8 course dinner for the first night.

Photobucket
Sounds scrumptious? No pictures of food though. = )

Photobucket
Awhh....love love. Haha!

Photobucket
Rev. Samson Dabbas during the first night session.

Photobucket
Here he is again...

Besides the fact that God was so awesome during camp, this was probably the next best thing to happen.

Photobucket
Abby and Mich joined us for camp!

Went out to a nearby mamak with them and just catch up. Headed back to the hotel after that and hear me out, we played truth and dare. Unfortunately, yours truly got it the worse...besides the fact we snapped some random pictures!

So we'll end the first day with some random snapshots. Excuse the picture quality. Phone camera isn't exactly a DSLR. = )

Till my next post...

PS: I'll be starting the habit of ending every post with a quote again. It's been a while...

Photobucket
She grabbed my shades and started "modeling".

When all is said and done...

Ohaiyo!
I know the church camp post is supposed to be up, but the pictures need to be uploaded.
So, patience please. = )

Today Mike had a chat with me during lunch and gave his opinions on the topic of love.
How interesting...
Using the same illustration as a bird caged up, he went on to explain how we should let the bird go.
Then if the bird comes back to the cage, you'll know that's the one.
Here's the line that caught my attention...

"If you let the girl meet other guys, and go out and see the world for herself and yet in the end comes back to you and chooses you...that's the one for you."

Eye opener yes?
He had other points, but that was the main one that caught my attention.
So much to learn, so much to do.
Unconditional love?
I think I've found it.

And if love is a decision, then I've decided...

I glance out at the sky, just to catch a glimpse of your reflection,
It almost seemed like the Grand Canyon stood in our way,
Though it might not have been meant to be, to love you is my decision,
And you're almost certain to be in my mind every single day.

When even the word 'special' cannot define you...

Guess who's back?
Back again.
Matt is back.
Tell a friend.

I'm back from church camp.
God spoke so specifically, and He taught very practically.
Rev. Samson Dabbas is a great man of God, and was used mightily at the camp.
Just a short update to say that the actual camp post will be up once I've uploaded all the pictures up.

In a nutshell...
- God was awesome.
- Met up with some childhood friends (And I miss you both very much already).
- You made me realize your importance to me.
- God once again confirmed that He has great plans for me. I'm so excited.
- I learned a whole lot through the sessions.

The actual post will be up real soon.
Bear with me. Just got back a few hours ago, and I only had 3 hours of sleep to last me through driving all the way back just now.
So, the post will be really really soon.
I promise.

PS: Need to go out again. Who's up for it? = )

More than mere feelings...

Photobucket
I promise, it'll be just around the corner.

Photobucket
Love stoned...

Photobucket
Do Re Mi.

Recently, a lot has been said (especially in church) that somehow led to the topic and definition of love.
It's been somewhat of a real revelation, a moment of epiphany if you like.

Over the years, I've learned how to differentiate crushes and a love relationship, proper.
No doubt crushes are only temporary, as it mostly deals with first sight (which I do not believe by the way).
What I've learned though, that crushes involve feelings which if prolonged and fertilized, do eventually grow into something more.

So do I believe in crushes?
Of course I do.
That is how things developed.

Then again, it develops into love only when you learn to appreciate, accept (good or bad), and love the person for who they are.
Again, feelings are inevitably involved.
But one thing I've learned, and this is it...

Love is a DECISION!
Yes, it is.
Not just mere feelings as how it is portrayed.
But rather...a decision.

A decision to commit.
A decision to cherish.
A decision to care.

It really struck me, and I realize what love means, or at least whatever little knowledge I have.

And love is when you love the person for who they are, not just because they're good looking, rich, or even the best kisser in the world.
Deep down, character always shines out, at least for me.
Love is...

Photobucket
...bringing the best out of you and me.

PS: Random, I know. Love me for it. : )
PSS: Will be on a hiatus for 3 days people! Church camp @ Kampar! = )

Sing me a lullaby, sweetie...

Warning: Image heavy post up ahead! Read at your own risk!

12th May 2009

A post-birthday celebration as the actual date (which was the day before) was inconvenient for them.
So yesh, we had lunch at Chilli's, 1 Utama as a birthday lunch, if you will...

Photobucket
The couple; Lingz and Dines...going strong ever since they found each other at the beginning of college. = )

Photobucket
Their honey chicken fillets, with some sort of sauce. Pretty good I'd say. Can't remember the name though. Chilli's and their incredibly long food names. >.<" Photobucket
Danial, Adam, and yours truly.

Photobucket
Adam's salmon fish, with yet again another sauce. (Yes, it was that long ago. I can't remember)

Photobucket
The belated birthday boy, and his corn. Okayy, that sounded weird. >.<" Photobucket
My lamb shoulder...with some sauce as well. Came with a healthy helping of mash potatoes and veggie with a piece of bun. Pretty alright, though I should have asked for well done instead of medium.

Photobucket
Adam's guava juice.

Photobucket
The rest of us had ice lemon tea.

Forgot to take a picture of Danial's gigantic burger.
Someone's fault for coming late. *cough*
Was driving back when I had the brilliant idea of chilling by a playground.
And my camera came out...

Photobucket
Can you see Adam? Bad lighting, or...

Photobucket
Entity: Dines.
Status: Turned on.
Reason: Unknown.

Photobucket
Here he is again.

Photobucket
Adam reliving his childhood.

Photobucket
And so did Dines.

Photobucket
But he took it one step too far. xD

Photobucket
Cows for sale...har har har.

Photobucket
They moved on to everyone's favourite childhood toy...the see-saw.

Photobucket
Sleeping on the job are we?

Photobucket
Meet my friend, the moron. = )

Photobucket
The supermodel wanna-be. xD

Photobucket
Boo! ...almost like camouflage.

Photobucket
Clueless as to what to comment on this picture. Buddiessssssss....= )

Photobucket
This is us...TRYING to be cool. He was anyway. xD

Finally, to end this section of this post...
Presenting to you, the best picture of the day...

Photobucket
I'll let your imagination wonder. Hahaha!

...

...

...finished laughing yet?

Moving on...
Next post.
Random outing with Hitomi on her last day of internship at KPMG.
We headed to Waffle World for lunch.

Photobucket
Lunch venue...

Photobucket
Here she is...with her mocha freeze, I think.

Photobucket
Take 2.

Photobucket
Her double nuts waffle; I think. Can't remember again...

Photobucket
My ice lemon tea that came with my lunch set.

Photobucket
Lemon salmon, with mash potatoes and veggie.

Note: Don't try the lunch set if you're a big eater. The portion was average only...

Well, that's about it I suppose.
Till my next post...
Toodles.

Maybe it's just me...

Presenting...

*drum roll*

...Matt.
Okayy, whatever.
Anyway, today I'm more or less free (minus the packing and preparation for church camp to Kampar tomorrow) and hence I'm here to do on some very very backdated blogging.
So, prepare yourself for a few posts in a row.

9th May 2009
It was on the brink of a really good friend of mine's birthday and he invited a few of us over for a simple BBQ and gathering of his friends.

Hence, Danial's birthday pictures. = )

Photobucket
The evening view from his place.

Photobucket
Heineken anyone? LOL.

Photobucket
Birthday boy was a bit drunk, tipsy perhaps. Hence this picture. Please excuse him.

Photobucket
Singing that classic birthday song...

Photobucket
Birthday boy giving his speech.

The rest of the pictures are probably with him, or on facebook.
So, that'll be all for now.
Anyway, for the next order of the day...

10th May 2009
Mother's Day it was. Out, we went.
Ugh, talking like that drives me insane.
Anyway, we celebrated Mother's Day by taking my grandparents out for steamboat buffet, and also more like a pre-birthday celebration since the next day was a Monday.
So, here we go...

Photobucket
My dearest grandparents. = )

Photobucket
The ermm...'sister' and my 2nd aunt.

Photobucket
Mummy and Dad. <333 style="font-weight: bold;">

Next up...

1. 21st Birthday lunch with college buddies.
2. Random outing with Hitomi.

Stay tuned. = )

When you look me in the eyes...

Heylo!
Ah, before I continue on with this post...

I AM OFFICIALLY...

...a POST GRADUATE!

Today's my first day of freedom.
Yesterday, the finals finished and boy the relief that swept over was enormous.

Anyway, "celebrated" freedom by heading all the way to Subang to play futsal.
Went out to Pyramid today again with a certain someone for a movie marathon (My first movie marathon by the way).
So yesh, today was a good day.
Freedom sorta brings about good feelings.
Liberty, as how Dan calls it is now in my hands...

This post, will be a summary of all the different movies that I've caught in the last 2 months or so.
So, here we go...

Photobucket
Underworld.

Yesh, I know I'm outdated. But I caught this on my laptop. Plot-wise, Underworld is pretty clear in terms of that. Action was sufficient, if you like. And, the main actress is hot hot hot. I personally think anyway...

Verdict: 6.5/10 Your average medieval classic between werewolves and vampires. Seen better, but good action scenes though.

Photobucket
Paul Blart: Mall Cop.

Okay, I'm gonna try to be as nice as I can. This movie...sucks. Okayyy, maybe exaggerated a lil, but it was a serious waste of money. Parents dragged me along to watch it though I wasn't too keen. In terms of comedy, didn't really lived up to my expectations. Almost as bad as Mr Bean, but a lil bit better.

Verdict: 5/10 Personally, comedies are judged more strictly due to the facts the jokes have to be really catchy. Seriously though, not for me.

PS: If you wanna see a fat man running around in a mall, then this is YOUR kinda show.

Photobucket
Yes Man.

Caught this on my laptop as well. Hmm, pretty alright I guess though again it didn't live up to my expectations. Lets just say Blades of Glory ranks among my top comedies and if you've watched that show, you know how high the expectations are.

Verdict: 6/10 A decent comedy...

Photobucket
The Simpsons Movie.

Caught this at a mamak with Dan and Adam. One word. LMAO! This is seriously one of the funniest shows you can watch (if you have a good command of sarcasm, sadism, and a sense of humour). Was laughing through the entire movie, and it was one joke after another. I couldn't even remember most of the jokes cause every part was hilarious.

Verdict: 8/10 I'm so gonna get the DVD for this movie. Must watch. Classic...

Photobucket
X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

I'm a sucker for action movies, but this was definitely worth the price paid (Student price, mind you xD). No, I mean seriously...this is a good movie. However, if you're an avid follower of the comic, this might not appeal to you simply because the storyline has been changed quite a lot from what I understand.

Verdict: 7.5/10 A good action movie filled action, love, revenge, and definitely a whole lot of slashing and violence. Two thumbs up...

As stated above...
Met up with Nicolette for my first movie marathon.
We caught these 2 movies...

Photobucket
Terminator Salvation.

The long awaited sequel of the Terminator series. Again, this would be a pretty decent movie to catch especially in the cinemas. Though the ratio of machines to men have decreased in this sequel, it is still pretty good with more background given. However, there's probably more sequels to come as the story has yet to be completed.

Verdict: 7.5/10 A good decent watch. Not as violent as you might perceive it to be. Thumbs up!

And our second movie...

Photobucket
Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.

A bit overrated in my opinion. Comparing the prequel to this movie, the storyline was somewhat predictable. Though the show had its moments, then again...lacked the depth in terms of jokes and plot.

Verdict:6/10 Just for laughs movie. Pretty straightforward...

Photobucket
My lovely date for the day. = )

So that would be all for now.
My eyes are shutting down.
Looking forward to church camp in Kampar on Thurs.
Will be awesome!

Till my next post, adios.

PS: Did I mention that I'm free from college? That means I'm free to go out! Time to fulfill those appointments people. xD
PSS: Picture credits to google. = )
