Discard me not...

Smile and the world smiles back at you.

You know how I used to think that such sayings were true and to a certain extent it was. Most of the time, smiling at someone (known or stranger for that matter) normally generates a smile in return as a reply.

BUT...

It does not really seem to work and sometimes I wonder if smiling is more of a chore than a reaction to some people. It seems the problems have been multiplied, headaches have been amplified, and stress levels have been intensified. I've found it a bit hard finding my feet since year 2009 started as well. However, I've been blessed with joy and I smile even when I don't feel like it (and no, its not pessimism or sarcasm).

There are times where the outward smile betrays the inward agony that circles around. I still thank God that though times are bad, and I'm not short of my own problems, I still smile. Knowing the fact that He holds tomorrow in His hands makes it all the more easier to smile regardless of the circumstances.

Things around me have been happening so fast sometimes that I fail to play catch. Yet I have to keep reminding myself to take things at my own pace and to place my trust in the Author and the Finisher of my faith. As for the future, year 2009 looks bright...

Cheers.

1 Peter 5:7 AMP
"Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully."

Psalms 55:22 AMP
"Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail)."

Matthew 11:28-30 AMP
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good--not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne."
