The moon pales in comparison to you...

Greetings!
I am your fath...
Nevermind.

Hello once again.
Today was my first day of work.
One word.
I-N-S-A-N-E!
It was hard work, and my muscles are aching all over from the carrying of boxes and a huge ice box up and down flights of stairs and around KL.
Anyway, before I get into that...

Yesterday's 5 Kempas reunion turned out great.
Everything ALMOST went according to plan.
Pictures will be up when I have the time to upload, though most of the pictures are already on Peng Cheng's facebook.
So, I will blog about it when I have time, though at the rate work is turning out to be...
You get the point. = )

First day of work, and I admit that I've learned a lot.
I think I've somehow managed to gauge my communication skills, my socializing skills, and my public relations skills.

Photobucket
Picture credits to google search. = )

So what have I learned at work today?
- Malaysians comprise of nice people who smile and either stop to hear you out, or say no thanks.
- Malaysians also comprise of very busy people (maybe especially in KL) who run about to and fro endlessly.
- Then there are Malaysians who ignore and act all obnoxious and rude when approached.
- Nonetheless, I'm a people person and I love meeting people and their different characters, and I've learned to like my job minus the carrying of heavy boxes up and down.
- BUT ironically promoting is so not my kinda job...though I admit that to a certain extent, my character does somewhat help in drawing out a friendly approach from people (sometimes).
- I've learned that people are skeptical of supposedly 'free' items and even though we were giving out free samples, more people turned it down than took up the offer.
- My character and perception towards people have somewhat changed. I'm glad even if the impression some left me may not be entirely positive.

So that was what my first day.
I have a lot more to learn I believe.
Complaining can be tempting at times, but God's grace was ever sustaining and sufficient.
Gonna be needing it every single day to get me through.
I'm not gonna talk about how tough the job will be, but I'm gonna look at it as a challenge that God wants to put me through to make me a better person.
I admit, I got discouraged a lil...
But I thank God He was there.
He is what makes the HUGE difference between complaining, and getting through everyday victoriously.

I thank God you were there.
You helped me through a crazy day.
Indeed your significance is more than you know it. = )

~ When I miss you, I don't have to go far...I just have to look inside my heart because that's where I'll find you.

Beyond Extraordinary; Just Plain Amazing...

When gray skies is but all the eyes can see across the horizon,
And the sun in its obstinate nature simply refuses to shine,
I have but to think of you, and for you I'd yearn,
Nobody else like you in the world to me, would ever be so fine.

It's been a pretty fruitful week this week.
Caught up with the most awaited summer blockbuster, twice in 2 consecutive days.
Caught up with a whole lot of movies.
So, here are the updates, and a whole lot of movie reviews.

24th June 2009
Was supposed to head to Midvalley, but someone decided on a change of place.
So we headed to Pyramid instead. = )

Photobucket
Random snapshot.

Ended up watching Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
Movie reviews later.
Oh, and didn't get to snap a picture that day unfortunately.
Bleah...

25th June 2009
Met up with Nicolette at Asia Cafe in the afternoon for her first game of pool.
Okay, I'm no pool master...just plain Pool 101.

Photobucket
She has the stance and all, yes? = )

Photobucket
Lunch/tea at Asia Cafe.

We then headed to Pyramid after that.
And guess what?
We managed to get tickets somehow for the 6pm Transformers show.
God is awesome. = )
Dropped her back after, and went for my jamming session with Billy's band.
I miss jamming, and it was absolute fun.
And now, they've asked if I want to be the official drummer of the band.
Another big decision; a lot of them seem to be coming at the same time.

Turns out Danial might not be able to make it now for the part time job.
I'm very very disheartened and discouraged.
Working would seem pretty pointless now, minus the fact that I'll have to find a replacement at the eleventh hour.
Yes, we're supposed to be starting on Monday.
Oh God....

Anyway, I'll do some movie reviews before this gets worse.

Photobucket
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

The most awaited blockbuster of the year, and it did not fail to impress as a sequel. As you know, the trend is such whereby sequels normally do not perform up to the standards of their predecessors due to the fact that the standard has been raised since the first movie. But this was...WOW. Beyond words. I watched this on the opening day, and the next day at the same venue with different people. Worth every dollar.

Verdict: 8.5/10 This is probably one of the best movies of the year so far, ranked right beside The Dark Knight. Psst, check out for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee! Rawr!

Photobucket
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Since there were some people who recommended me to catch this, I thought why not? It turned out pretty alright, in terms of plot and storyline. But yet again, another one of those sad endings which I'm not really a fan of. Nevertheless, it was not bad.

Verdict: 6.5/10 Due to the way the whole plot and storyline is structured. It's a pretty decent movie.

Photobucket
Valkyrie.

Again, this was based on recommendation from some people. Those of you who know me since high school, History was one of my favourite subjects (Yes, I can hear all the "You're insane" chants going on). This movie appealed to me, especially how the whole plot and plans and schemes against Hitler came to play.

Verdict: 7/10 This movie provides a good plot and though not much action, but I was on the edge of my seat. There were its 'kan cheong' scenes during the movie.

Photobucket
Gladiator.

Okay, no laughing. I'm that outdated. But the Roman empire at its height, its prime was certainly frightening enough. Russell Crowe played his role to perfection, depicting the brave but yet humble General Maximus who made his way to earn his freedom and to go out in style.

Verdict: 7/10 No wonder this movie won Oscars. It was certainly one heck of a long movie, but it was good. Hmm...I wonder why most of the movies in this review have endings with the hero sacrificing his life in the end.

Photobucket
Seven Pounds.

Without a doubt, this was the sappiest among the sappy movies that I've caught so far. You don't really understand what is going on till somewhere in the middle of the movie. But overall, I'd say the movie brings out the best in Will Smith (just like in the Pursuit of Happyness) and fans of Will Smith will agree with me...

Verdict: 6/10 Girls, take out those tissues. = )

Photobucket
Never Back Down.

Oh, this movie turned out to be pretty good as it depicts how Jake Tyler learns the reasons behind throwing a punch at an opponent, not just for the sake of doing so...but ultimately, to fight for a purpose, a reason. Good stuff.

Verdict: 7/10 Pretty good. By the way, Amber Heard is hawt! Some eye candy for those of you interested in catching the movie. Or are you interested now? = )

That's about all for the list of movies that I've caught.
Pretty good stuff, but I need to download more.
On another note, besides frustration, I'm quite discouraged and disappointed.
The whole finding people for the part time job thing is getting very annoying.

I'm just gonna pray and surrender it to God.
Beyond my control...

Till my next post, cheerio.

~ Missing someone gets easier everyday because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.

Where hardships abound, friends will be around...

Current craving: A cup of Coke with lots of ice.

I miss the times when I had classes to go to.
I miss meeting up with my college friends, and we tend to take the people around us forgranted.
I miss having group studying and goofing around during the sessions.
I miss...

Photobucket
College library.

Photobucket
Hard at work. Yeah right. Haha!

Photobucket
Perplexed? Stumped more like it...

Photobucket
The skill of 'tiduring' during lectures.

Photobucket
Ah, I miss studying till late at night. Not really late, but yeah...

Photobucket
And those Sundays where we had to rush for the following day's paper.

Photobucket
The 'baru bangun' look.

Photobucket
Deep discussions.

Photobucket
Work work work...

Photobucket
Candid.

Photobucket
"Transfer pricing is...ermm, transfer of players between football clubs?" = )

Photobucket
I was hardly photogenic when it comes to pictures.

Photobucket
Yes, we look horrible when we're busy stressing for exams.

Photobucket
Rawr! Essentials of a study group.

Photobucket
Our movie outings.

Photobucket
Our random outings to KL, though it was only a single trip since Times Square did kinda suck.

Photobucket
Most definitely the gaming sessions (not to mention the times we skipped classes for them) Haha.

Photobucket
Our random lunches at Ikea, and checking out the furniture soon after.

Photobucket
And how we used to have that lunch set at Pizza Hut's, which wasn't that worth it after all.

Photobucket
Shopping (or window shopping) for sports apparel @ Studio R, 1U.

Photobucket
That one off ice-skating session we had.

Photobucket
Sunway Pyramid, 2008.

Photobucket
Our BBQ sessions at Dan's place.

Photobucket
Our late night push for assignments that took a whole lot of time.

Photobucket
Busy at work @ Old Town White Coffee.

Photobucket
And our favourite Starbucks.

Photobucket
Those after class football sessions.

Photobucket
Those short breaks in between classes.

Photobucket
Toilet snapshots.

Photobucket
After futsal yum cha sessions.

Photobucket
The random birthday celebrations we had.

Photobucket
Taken during foundation, 2006. Our group before everyone found their other halfs, changed to a different college, and we slowly grew apart.

Photobucket
I miss you guys!

Photobucket
And you guys.

I hope to God we keep in touch.
They say friends come and go.
I'm not about to let that stop our friendship.
This sounds cheesy, sounds corny, but...
You guys were what made college life so memorable.
And you guys mean the world to me.

I'll do whatever it takes to keep this going.
Cliche, but friends for the rest of our lives (just cause I don't believe in saying forever when it comes to these things).

PS: Meet up people! = )

~ Though miles may lie between us, we're never far apart, for friendship doesn't count the miles, it's measured by the heart.

You that I've come to know and love...

Current craving: Sushi.

Being random is being creative in a manner of speaking.
Everyone's being random, and I find it sheer fun.
Anyway...
A short update on how my day went.

woke up // had my daily juice for breakfast // watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button // went online // watched Gladiator // had lunch // went for football with Jordan // had dinner // watched televeevee (I'm being random) // did devotion // back online // blogging

Precise and concise.
Very mundane, very routine, and definitely running out of movies to watch.
Need Eu Jin's help to try and get the downloading software into my computer.
Anyway, I'm probably gonna start my part time job next Monday if all goes well.
I miss a lot of people.
I miss someone especially much.

Plans for the week?
Here they are.

- Midvalley with Amelia tomorrow (Oops, I meant later. It's 12.05am).
- Pool date with Nicolette, and jamming session with Billy's band at night.
- 5 Kempas reunion this Sunday; steamboat buffet at Kepong (This is a reminder for those of you who have yet to RSVP).

I've got a pending yum cha session with Raffick and Chin Hing (who is back from Canada).
Also have pending yum cha session(s) with Lynn Yee.
And just when I thought I'd be staying home a bit more this week. = )

I could possibly be offered a job at an oil and gas company in Sabah.
Though it's just been talked about, but I kinda got excited a lil.
And...the job requires you to travel to China, Russia, London, and goodness knows where else.
Sounds very lucrative, but since I've calmed down a bit after the excitement at the beginning...I realize that I still have to further my studies.
ACCA with a major audit firm is high on my list.

And I've also realized that ultimately...
God's will has to be done in my life, cause this life is His, not mine.
No matter how lucrative or attractive an offer is, acceptance will not come until He says "This is the right job for you."
So I'm excited, since I know He has really extraordinary plans for my future.
And I CANNOT wait to make a difference for Him in the world today.
Gotta pray a whole lot (And if you can, keep me in your prayers too).

That's all the updates I have for now.
Was supposed to be watching Transformers 2 with my college buddies tomorrow, but I guess not.
I'll probably be the biggest lamppost ever.
There were a few requests for me to watch Transformers 2; but the next person that asks me to watch...that'll be my date.
Rawr, I can't wait.

~ When I see you, the world stops as if the only purpose in life was for me to please you.

If I could have but one moment...

For those who are still asking me "When do your holidays end?"
My answer...indefinitely.
I've officially GRADUATED!
Yesh, graduated!
So...will be looking out on where to go next. = )

Anyway, been catching a lot of movies recently.
So here are the reviews.
It's gonna be pretty lengthy.

Photobucket
Push.

Thankfully, I didn't bother paying money to watch this in the big screens. For me, it was a bit overrated and the plot was rather weak. I kinda felt like sleeping while watching this on my laptop.

Verdict: 5/10 Not really worth it. Doesn't cut it for me.

Photobucket
Marley & Me.

One word: Family. This movie is more of a family kinda movie, and girls who are especially gullible to shedding a tear or two, this movie is for you. It was pretty okay for me, but I hate sad endings. And yesh, I'm a spoiler. This movie had a sad ending.

Verdict: 7/10 Good movie overall. The plot was planned out well. Asides from the sad ending, it was pretty alright.

Photobucket
He's Just Not That Into You.

I wanted to know the reason behind Danial watching a chick flick twice, in the cinemas. So I had pretty high expectations. A typical movie that brought about how both genders operated in the world of dating, with a whole lot of different elements being brought in (i.e. signals, marriage, signs). To be honest after watching the movie, I was even more confused about girls. Haha!

Verdict: 8/10 Now I know why Danial watched it twice. It is pretty good. = )

Photobucket
Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia.

Typical action movie. The US send a specialized team of soldiers into Colombia, get framed for mass murder of important people, get hunted down, and finally proving their innocence with a whole lot of deaths on the way about it.

Verdict: 6/10 It was not bad, but rather predictable in a way.

Photobucket
Another Cinderella Story.

Like the title says, a typical Cinderella story set in a modern surrounding. Loads of dancing involved, but to me that was the only interesting about the movie. Nothing too catchy or spectacular personally...

Verdict: 5.5/10 A typical chick flick.

Photobucket
Dragon Wars.

The name makes it sound almost too overrated. Massive damage done, lots of deaths, but yet for the most part of it...not a single drop of blood was seen spilled. Here's the best part. There was not dragon to be found except towards the ending.

Verdict: 4/10 Totally overrated.

Photobucket
Doomsday.

Talks about a deadly virus, the Reaper virus being unleashed and how Scotland in this story was quarantined and cut off from the rest of the people. Few years later, London is infected and a team is sent in to obtain the cure.

Verdict: 7/10 A whole lot of blood, gore, violence, chopped limbs, and chopped heads. Good for those of you who enjoy such movies. = )

Photobucket
The Last Samurai.

Yes, Tom Cruise. This was a long movie, but it was good simply because they combined the elements of love, war, harmony, and a whole lot of other elements that made it a good movie to watch. It was freaking long though. The movie lasted almost 3 whole hours, but it was worth it.

Verdict: 7.5/10 The storyline was pretty solid. Not bad.

That's all from me now.
Few movies on my yet to watch list include...

- The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
- Valkyrie
- Gladiator (Yesh, I'm that outdated. Haha!)

~ A silent hug means a thousand words to the unhappy heart.
